Dating in the lds church
By the time members of the Silent Generation (the generation born between 19, who are now among the top leaders of the LDS Church) reached their early 30s, almost two-thirds of them (65%) were already married.
Every generation’s age of first marriage has dropped since then to the point where only one-quarter of Millennials (26%) are married by their early 30s.
Yesterday I gave a keynote speech at a Mormon Studies conference Utah Valley University, raising a number of questions about the generation that fascinates me most: the Millennials, or those Americans born in the 1980s and 1990s.
You can read news coverage of the conference here or here, but here’s a basic summary of what I was trying to get at by collating a whole lot of data.
Diversity for Millennials isn’t just a nice thing, or something to tolerate. In one study of Millennials in the workplace, 83% said they were more likely to be engaged with their work in a diverse, inclusive environment.
Your LDS online dating profile is just a way to say, ‘hey, hello, how are you? It gives you a chance to spark that initial interest in other LDS singles.
Fact - a solid online dating profile that is complete with a few pictures and gives a clear impression of who you are will receive infinitely more attention than an incomplete profile receives. You can choose to share your pictures, videos and audio clips with everyone on True LDS or with a selected group of friends or maybe just with that special Latter-day Saint.
Because of True LDS, we were able to meet, and we have since been sealed in the temple and have shared our first happy year of marriage. Marriage is such a wonderful blessing, and you helped make it happen! I am not good with computers, so True LDS agreed to post my picture to my profile for me. First, I would like to thank you so much for creating True LDS. We were married in the temple a month and a half ago and we would never have met without True LDS and the prompting I had to get online early that Sunday morning in October last year. Now I would like to close my account, please, so I do not keep getting gifts and requests. True LDS offers LDS singles an easy and fun way to interact with other single Saints.
Without your site, I would probably still not be married. They even gave me a year’s worth of extras for free! But just like with the church, it pays to be active on True LDS.
